"All lonely actions have to be avoided, if not condemned ..."

Two weeks. That's all it takes. Suddenly time is of the essence. Developing countries have been bleeding for years - but as the credit crunch hits the rich and the domino effect terrifies the wealthy, suddenly all it takes is two short weeks.

More from the Guardian on this story here. Whilst this is probably the quote of the day:
The IMF also called for better coordination of national responses to the ongoing turmoil, and Strauss-Kahn singled out the chaotic actions in Europe for criticisms. "I urge European countries to work together: there is no domestic solution to a crisis like this. All lonely actions have to be avoided, if not condemned."

2 thoughtful fixes:

  2. It looks like we're going to get it. If Brown is able to handle it intelligently, this could be the start of a useful and productive new order. Not the kind which builds barricades but rather the sort that changes a world.
